Four horned parakeets (Eunymphicus cornutus), visible since March 20 at the Oceanian aviary, coexist with Australian rainbow lorikeets (Trichoglossus moluccanus), a pair of Victoria crowned pigeons (Goura victoria) and three straw necked ibis (Threskiornis spinicollis). They can be distinguished from other birds by their soft song resembling small muffled laughter, as well as their green and yellow livery, their red «crown» on the top of the skull and their 2 black feathers with red tips that stand above their head.

The horned parakeet is native to New Caledonia. It is found mainly in tropical rainforests but can also be seen in savannahs. It is mainly threatened by habitat degradation due to logging, which is why the International Union for the Conservation of Nature (IUCN) considers it «Vulnerable» on its red list.
